artist statement

"Western Overture"   Works generally conceived on canvas are expected to remain within oil or acrylic paint.  The use of found objects from a railroad junkyard mixed with fine art conté, graphite, and charcoal create a mixed effort.  The landscape scene, resonant of west Phoenix, is exploring space and material development, pun intended.
